Yom HaShoah,
also known as Holocaust Remembrance
Day, occurs on the 27th of Nisan. 

Shoah, which means catastrophe or utter destruction in Hebrew, refers to the atrocities that were committed against the Jewish people during World War II. 

This is a memorial day for those who died in the Shoah.

Guest Speakers:
Ben Stern
Ben Stern is a survivor of two Holocaust ghettos, nine concentration camps and two death marches between 1939 and 1945. He was liberated by the U.S. Army and traveled on the first ship that brought survivors to America. Ben lives his life heroically, with courage and kindness and his story is an inspiration to all who hear him.

Charlene Y. Stern, 
Daughter of Ben, Charlene helped found Tehiyah Day School and Congregation Shalom in Berkeley and has served on the Board of the Bay Area Council for Soviet Jewry, working to free Jews from Russia. As a child of Holocaust survivors, she is deeply committed to preparing the next generation for a life of personal commitment and responsibility.

All adults are invited to join our Religious School Fifth, Sixth and Seventh Grades to hear this special presentation.
