In order to open up for something new to come in, we have to release our grip on the old. Whether we're trying to force our will on an unbending situation, or let go of an old belief or way of being, letting go can be the best action to take.

Here's an example. I recently upgraded my brand, The Yoga Woman, with a new logo, photo shoot, corporate colors, business cards, newsletter layout, product packaging, and website. It took a lot of effort to bring all this together. It would have been easier to stick with the status quo. Status quo leads to stagnation, however, and if I want to take my business to the next level, I have to step up my game with my marketing materials. 

Same thing with your life. Where do you want to step it up this Spring? Take a look at your life to see what needs tweaking. 

Jot down one thing you would like to release and one thing you would like to receive in each of the following seven life areas: 

1. Health / Fitness

2. Relationship / Family

3. Friendship

4. Career / Work

5. Finances

6. Community Involvement

7. Spirituality
 

What can you let go of in order to make room for something fresh? Pick one thing and start there. It could be a belief about a partner, or a re-commitment to your spiritual path. Yoga is mastery over matter. It starts by creating space.
