Verify Your Values   

The purpose of life, I believe, is two-fold. First, we're to learn how to master the physical plane. Second, our mission is to learn how to transcend time and space. Before getting all airy-fairy in the second phase, let's keep it real. The laws of creation become practical when applied to the physical plane.

 

In order to manifest what we want in life, there needs to be a container already in place. Our values form the framework that shapes your life. Imagine your values as the molds you pour your heart and soul into. Values are what we stand for and tells the world who we are. 

 

Values act as a lens through which we view the world. They also act as a guide to decision making. Faced with a tough choice, which one is more in alignment with your values?

 

When we choose friends, we tend to pick people whose values are similar to our own. We enjoy hanging out with people like us. A Mexican proverb states, "Tell me with whom you walk, and I will tell you who you are." Different value systems can create chaos in relationships. Make sure you're aware of what the other person's value system consists of before solidifying any type of relationship.

 

First, you have to know what your values are, and what they are not. Review this list of values, for example. Take your time; don't rush this. Print it out if possible.  List of 418 Values 

 

Values Exercises

  1. Sit with each value for a moment and see if it resonates with you. Does it feel like something important? Circle it, and move on to the next. Some will resonate, others will not. Don limit how many you choose this first pass. Just highlight any that stand out to you.
  2. Cut it in half: Top 50%
  3. From there, pick the top 10 things that are important to you at this time in your life
  4. Post these Top 10 Values where you'll see them: bathroom mirror, car dashboard
  5. From the Top 10, whittle it down to top 3 values
  6. What can you do every day in support of these top three values? What can you do every day that support these top three values?  
  7. Meditation or journaling topics: How do your values shape your life? Is your life reflective of your values?
  8. Find photos and pictures of your values and make a collage - either on-line or a real one to put on the wall.
  9. Visualize your values being played out in your life.

Our ability to manifest on the physical plane begins with our values. They form the foundation of our lives. By verifying your values, you're one step closer to bringing your heart's desire into the physical realm.
