Your long and short term goals are like a fresh-out-of-the-oven pie. You put time, ingredients, and effort into baking the pie. In the end, you get to enjoy to results of your efforts, and share those results with others. The same holds true for our goals and intentions.
The enjoyment you get when you achieve your goals is like smelling the the pie cooking in the oven. Smells good, and it will likely taste good, too. The whole pie is your long term goals. Before you can enjoy the fruits of your efforts, however, there's more to do.
Just as you cannot eat the whole pie all at once, you're not going to accomplish your goals in one fell swoop. You cut your pie into pieces. And you break down your big goals to smaller goals.
As you would eat a pie one bite at a time. goals getting broken down into bite sized chunks. Same with your goals. Daily, actionable steps that you do in service of your goals.
Now take a bite. Yum!
The results of our efforts are tasty when we work the process correctly.
Goals are SMART: Specific, Measurable, Actionable, Realistic, and Time Specific. - Long Term Goal: 1 year to 30 years; The Big Picture
- Short Term Goal: 1 Month to 1 year; Pieces of Big Picture
- Daily Action Steps: Add to calendar, set and honor reminders and deadlines. Create partnerships for support.
- Vision Board: Create a visual representation of what you hope your year to be. Cut out images and words that resonate with your goals and intentions. Look at it daily. Visualize your goals as already done. Feel it, then let it go. Let the Universe do its magic.
- Intention and Inspiration: Intention = goal behind the goal. The feeling behind the Big Picture. What do you hope to experience by achieving the goal? Feel the emotion behind each goal it for 17 seconds a day.
Ask throughout the day: "What actions can I take NOW in service of my long range goals?" We live in a Universe of plenty. Let's bring about the type of world we want to live in by getting crystal clear on what that world looks and feels like. By getting clear on exactly what it is we're baking down here, we create structure to bring forth the new age. Let's bake the kind of pie we all can benefit from, one that serves everyone.
