At the young age of 11, James found himself in the municipal court system for a theft charge.  He was also one of the highest risk youth that YouthZone has encountered, due to his drug use and problems in his home life, which included him being in and out of the home.  At 12 years old, James found himself in more trouble and began working with Jennifer Keener, Youth Advocate, at YouthZone through the Senate Bill 94 program, which is a grant initiative funded by the State of Colorado. This program provides alternatives to detention for youth, ages 10 to 17, who are involved in the juvenile justice system. Help Us Get Our Share of the Colorado Gives Day $1 Million Incentive Fund!

For the fifth consecutive year, Community First Foundation and FirstBank are partnering to present Colorado Gives Day and are providing an incentive fund of $1 million.

By making an online donation to YouthZone on Tuesday, December 9, 2014, YouthZone will receive a portion of this fund based on donations received, which will increase the value of your donation!

We also have an anonymous donor who will match dollar-for-dollar, up to $10,000, for donations received on Colorado Gives Day. So mark your calendars for December 9 to donate here!
Nice Catch!
