Can you believe it's almost March? Wow, time sure does fly! We hope you celebrated your sweetheart on Valentines day because we have a sweetheart of a deal for you,  the 21st Appliance Service Training Institute or ASTI. With over 500 registered attendees and this will be the biggest training event in 2013. Heck it even has it's own interactive event mobile app for all smartphone users. Search your app store for "ASTI". We'll share with you successful strategies to run your business in today's competitive market. Business sure isn't like it use to be and if your phone isn't ringing like you think it should come to ASTI and we'll help you change that! There's still room. Although the Disney Coronado Springs hotel is now SOLD OUT we stashed 5 rooms for last minute folks! But act fast, they'll be gone by Friday. We're excited and looking forward to seeing many of you next week in Orlando.

Good news for retailers, not for consumers: The fallout of a class-action lawsuit in July means that businesses may charge 4 percent for using a Visa or MasterCard. NBC's Katy Tur reports.

 

It could soon cost you more to shop with a credit card at some stores. As of this Sunday, Jan. 27, merchants who accept credit cards issued by Visa and MasterCard will be allowed to add a service charge to the purchase price. more...

ITC Imposes Duties on Imported Washers

Washington - The U.S. International Trade Commission (ITC) has imposed stiff import duties on clothes washers made in South Korea and Mexico by Daewoo, Electrolux, LG and Samsung.

 

Today's unanimous 6-0 decision confirmed last month's ruling by the U.S. Commerce Department that the manufacturers sold imported washers here below fair value and harmed the domestic washer industry. more...
