Practicing labor and employment law for more than 20 years, Diane brings over ten years of in-house counsel experience to NFC. She counsels clients in all aspects of labor and employment law on a national basis, including issues relating to employment discrimination, harassment, employee benefits, corporate restructuring and union awareness. Diane works closely with senior management and Boards of Directors to provide advice and risk analysis on a variety of employment related matters. She has extensive experience providing employee and management training in numerous employment related areas including harassment, FMLA, ADA, and workplace ethics.

As a former global compliance officer for Ingersoll Rand Company and former Vice President of Employment Law and Litigation for the Novartis Consumer Health Division, Diane possesses a wealth of experience structuring the scope and timing of efficient and effective internal workplace investigations, as well as the development and execution of workplace compliance programs. In addition to her work at Nukk-Freeman & Cerra, she currently serves as a Compliance Expert for a global pharmaceutical manufacturer subject to a Corporate Integrity Agreement and is responsible for assessing compliance program effectiveness on behalf of the company's Board of Directors. 

For the second year in a row, Diane has been named to the New Jersey Super Lawyer's list for "Top Labor and Employment" attorneys.

Heather S. Berman joins us after graduating Fordham University's School of Law in 2012.  Heather focuses her practice on the defense of management in all stages of employment and labor law litigation in both state and federal court.  Ms. Berman defends litigation brought under federal employment discrimination statutes such as Title VII, the ADEA, the ADA, the FMLA, and New Jersey equivalents including the LAD, CEPA and the FLA.  In addition to her litigation practice, Ms. Berman counsels employers on employee handbooks, policies, performance improvement plans, disciplinary materials and separation agreements and releases.   

Prior to joining NFC, Ms. Berman spent over four years as a human resources professional and compliance officer for a private sector investment firm. Prior to that, she worked as an HR Associate at Ambrose Employer Group, a professional employer organization. Her years of experience in the corporate world as an HR professional bring a unique perspective to her practice.
