We are very happy to announce that Badger Childhood Cancer Network has been accepted as a member of Community Health Charities of Wisconsin. We went through an extensive application and review process with a detailed audit demonstrating that we provide great programs and services for your donation dollar, with low fund raising and administrative costs that meet the best standards.

Community Health Charities unites workplace donors with health-related charities that improve the lives of people all over Wisconsin. When it is time for you to fill out your workplace donation forms this fall, please consider choosing BCCN!  Ongoing donations give us a stable foundation to support these amazing kids and their families.

The great folks at 5NINES of Madison have generously donated web and email hosting to BCCN. After having a nightmare experience with a big, faceless company, we needed reliable, local hosting and support, and the folks at 5NINES are amazing! Check them out at www.5NINES.com.

DID YOU KNOW?

Hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (also referred to as bone marrow transplantation) is used to treat
serious diseases including some cancers, immune diseases and blood disorders through a process that destroys the patient's damaged immune system and replaces it with healthy stem cells.  Blood stem cells -- regenerative cells that become red blood cells, white blood cells, platelets or plasma cells -- are a basic component of a person's immune system. The new stem cells restore the blood-forming cells of the bone marrow, thus creating a new immune system in the patient's body. It is a difficult procedure for the patient, so it is only used with life-threatening diseases.  We know quite a few kids who have only been able to successfully conquer their cancer or life-threatening blood disorder because a stranger somewhere in the world had joined the registry and was able to give them this precious gift.  Please join the donor registry - you could save a life!
"The first of April is the day we remember what we are the other 364 days of the year."  Mark Twain

Don't forget to talk to your friends, family members and co-workers about joining your team for the Badger Childhood Cancer SUPERHERO RUN on September 1st!  It's our best opportunity of the year to raise awareness of Childhood Cancer in our community and to raise funds to support kids and families during their battle!

Wishing you healthy and happy days-
