What is renewable energy is and how it is harnessed in its different forms?

How do renewable and non-renewable energy sources differ?

  • Learn about the benefits and considerations for each of the main renewable energy technologies currently available in RI 
  • Understand how renewable energy technologies can be applied to the residential, commercial and transportation sectors
Session II: RENEWABLE ENERGY IN RHODE ISLAND      11:00 - 12:30 p.m.

 

What programs and incentives are available to Rhode Islander's interested in implementing renewable energy technologies at home or for their small business?

  • Learn about new state policies to enhance the renewable energy market in RI 
  • Hear from policymakers, industry professionals and consumers with first-hand experience in renewable energy technology adoption!
Session III: INTERACTIVE BREAKOUT SESSIONS                1:30 - 3:00 p.m.

A. Solar Energy Solutions for Transportation
Jeff Flath is the president of eNow, a transportation-orientated alternative-energy company. Take a tour of eNow's flexible solar panel system that produces clean renewable energy while transportation vehicles remain idle, reducing cost.
                                            
B. University Renewables Showcase
Explore the newest addition to URI's residence halls to see how renewables can alleviate the energy cost burden on an institutional scale. Hear about how URI is showcasing its continued strategy of providing a positive learning environment while also teaching students the importance of environmental sustainability.
