On Christmas Day our second son and his wife announced that a new baby had entered our family. This week we learned he is a boy! His first picture is in the article below. New life is incredibly good news, but sometimes death follows too closely and expectant parents find themselves facing grief even before birth. The church has love and comfort and hope to offer grieving parents but we need knowledge too and I hope you will find helpful resources in this email that will inform your ministry.

We have spotlighted a medical missionary in the Cameroon, Dr. Paul Atem in this newsletter because we know that our readers understand that it is not enough to stand against abortion--we must also support women in choosing life affirming alternatives. We'd like to lift up Dr. Atem's ministry as one deserving of your church mission dollars!

 

Be sure to read about PPL's newest chapter Choose Life in Fair Oaks, California. They are the first EPC PPL Chapter and the are off the ground and running to defend the imago dei in tiny vulnerable lives!

God's Spirit seems to be moving in a wave of pro-life awareness in many places. PPL appears to be on the edge of explosive growth one minute and incapacitated by our small staff and tiny budget the next. Pray for us and please give as generously as you are able. If you are attending the EPC Pacific Presbytery meeting at Centerpoint Church in Roseville, CA today or tomorrow, you may see a table sponsored by PPL's newest  (and the first in the EPC) PPL Chapter: Choose Life! Founded by members at Fair Oaks Presbyterian Church after Suzi Kneedler talked with Marie Bowen at the EPC General Assembly in June, the chapter is already experiencing growth as God calls individuals from other churches to join their lively witness to the value of human life.

With encouragement from Choose Life leaders, Amy Scherschligt and Melinda Klopsch, the Fair Oaks church observed Sanctity of Human Life Sunday on January 26 at all four of their services by showing a 4 minute video on the dignity of human life from Focus on the Family. Amy & Melinda had a table in the Caffe Presse following each service to introduce their chapter to the congregation. 

In addition to their presence at the presbytery meeting, chapter members are working cooperatively with their local 40 Days for Life effort and also paying visits to local government offices in a public pro-lfie witness effort. With others in their community they are planning a Life Summit for June.
