Colorado, escapes to central & southern places

Rocky Mountain Columbine the State flower
The Colorado State flower - Rocky Mountain Columbine
I love the wild-wild West and had hoped this year to re-visit areas shown here as well as Utah, New Mexico, Arizona, and Las Vegas... We'll make it next year!

Mountains of Colorado
breathtaking vista and the smell of crisp clean air...
Bernard
In southern Colorado west of Trinidad is where my friends Ann and Bernard Parsons own a ranch. The photo upper left shows Bernard with a few of his horses, and at the lower right he is looking over the homestead.
Robert G Parsons
I enjoy seeing the places behind the scenes, such as the barns were the horseshoes, harnesses, saddles, and the tools of the cowboys are kept. In the upper right photo, Robert Parsons senior, with one hand on a harness, is pointing towards the saddles. Sadlly he recently passed on.
vicious chipmonk
Don't let this cute face fool you: A most vicious and cunning animal in Colorado. This Chipmunk stole my apple and gave me this threatening look when I tried to get it back.
Creede in Mineral County, Colorado
The town of Creede in Mineral County. It came to be by the discovery and mining of high grade of silver in the area. I found a favorite animal, a burro cast in silver there. It's a great little town.

Black Canyon
Black Canyon derived its name from its heights blocking the sun. At some places it is only 40 ft wide. The Gunnisen River drops on average 34 ft per mile.
