Power to the Mother: A Reflection of the 2014 NAMC Leadership Council Retreat
Imagine if you could remove yourself from the everyday stresses of life for just a few days to regroup, surround yourself with support and validate the importance of mothering and your role as a mother. That (and more!) is exactly what happened at our 2014 NAMC Leadership Council Retreat. Mothers' Center Group leaders from across the country came to share, learn and connect with each other, our NAMC staff and our NAMC board members - all while working to make their Mothers' Center groups stronger.
If there is one phrase that could wrap up the weekend, it would be: Power to the Mother! It was most definitely an empowering experience (to say the least) for all who joined us. See images and read more about our weekend via the Mothers Central blog.
Join us each month as we highlight different local Mothers' Center Groups across the nation. Don't have a Mothers' Center Group near you? Learn more about starting a local Mothers' Center Group by downloading our New Group Start-up Guide.

 Working Families Summit
The White House has announced a Working Families Summit planned for June 23, 2014. The President has often spoken publicly about women's right to equal pay, paid leave and greater access to quality child care. Congress may have tied itself into knots, but we can still make progress by showing our support for policies that make sense for the economy, women, mothers, and all those who care for or need to be cared for by a family member.
Sign up for updates from the White House about the Summit, and check out the schedule for related events in Chicago, Denver, San Francisco, New York and Boston.
