Greetings!
A little snow (all right - a lot of snow) hasn't been able to stop us from plowing forward! We're excited to connect with some of our Mothers' Center members across the country at the annual Leadership Council retreat this week. Look for updates coming out of that gathering. And we can't wait to get outside and walk Miles for Mothers in May! We hope you'll join us wherever you are. Enjoy this issue of the NAMC eNews! Best wishes,
Alison La Ferlita Executive Director

Researching Motherhood: The Faces of Mothers' Centers
We inadvertently become researchers of life and motherhood when we study our own, as well as other mothers', experiences and journeys. This is the concept behind our monthly Faces of Mothers' Centers series on the NAMC parenting blog, Mothers Central, featuring interviews with different Mothers' Center members across the nation.
This month we introduced you to Brooke Campbell - a mother of two, creative arts therapist and a member of the Mothers' Center of Central New Jersey. Have you taken a few moments to meet her and the rest of the everyday, extraordinary Mothers' Center members we've interviewed? Join us each month as we highlight different local Mothers' Center Groups across the nation. Don't have a Mothers' Center Group near you? Learn more about starting a local Mothers' Center Group by downloading our New Group Start-up Guide.

 Work-Life Balance - NOT Just a Women's Problem
Advocating for work/family policies is everybody's business. Paid family leave and paid sick days will allow both moms and dads to work and handle family needs at the same time.
Think we can achieve economic security for mothers without these policies? Well, get a load of this from Slate: "A revealing - and depressing - article in this month's Harvard Business Review shows that no matter how much power female executives have accrued, or how much lip service male executives might publicly pay, family issues are still seen as a female problem."
Yeah, we're gonna have to change that.
