News & Tip of the Month
May 2013

Thanks for your interest and participation in Elert & Associates' virtual classroom! Here's what's new this month.

Be sure to check out this month's software tip below!

SharePoint 2010 Classes Now on the Schedule!
We mentioned last month that we'd be adding SharePoint 2010 classes to our catalog soon. The first few classes in that curriculum are now on the public virtual classroom schedule. If your organization has implemented SharePoint, consider taking some time out for these classes, to help you use this tool more effectively!

New Virtual Classroom Schedule
The course schedules for public classes in the virtual classroom from May through July are now available. The schedule includes a variety of Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Visio, Project, OneNote, SharePoint, and Windows 90 Minute Workouts, as well as several one-on-one application support sessions. See our course catalog for complete descriptions.

We currently offer Office 2007 and 2010 classes in our virtual classroom. Be sure to choose the appropriate version when you register.

Still using Office 2003? Sign up for a one-on-one application support session, or contact us to schedule a private class for up to ten people from your organization.

Take just 90 minutes out of your day to learn a new skill or two, and realize the benefits in increased productivity immediately!

Tip of the Month

It's a Snap

Windows 7 has all sorts of built-in shortcuts you may not be aware of. One such shortcut is Windows Snap--a feature that lets you snap open windows to specific areas of your screen with just a keystroke. This makes it easy to quickly size and arrange two windows to view them side by side.

These keystrokes use the Windows key (which is the key next to the left Alt key, with the Windows flag logo on it) and the directional arrow keys (generally found in the lower-right part of the keyboard).
  • Press the Windows key and the left arrow to snap the active window to the left side of the screen.
  • Press the Windows key and the right arrow to snap the active window to the right side of the screen. (If you have already snapped the window to the left, you'll need to press this key combination twice to move it to the right.)
  • Press the Windows key and the up arrow to maximize the active window to fill the entire screen.

To learn other Windows 7 tips, attend the Windows 7 Moving from Windows XP 90 Minute Workout (or sign up for a one-on-one application support session on this topic) in our virtual classroom!
Did You Know?
In addition to public classes, we can work with you to offer private or customized classes to your company in our virtual classroom. Remember, in the virtual classroom, there's no cost for gas or parking and no time lost due to travel!
