This Sunday we will start a new series called DON'T JUST CHECK THE BOX. We are entering into the holiday season where it is easy to just check off the boxes of responsibilities and activity.  This season we want you to do more than just check off "the box".

FUEL THIS SUNDAY:

We begin a new series called Real Talk.  Does prayer ever make you feel a little nervous?  Like it's something really formal?  Even Jesus' closest followers felt a little uncomfortable with prayer, so much so that they asked Him how to do it. How Jesus responds reveals that our ideas about prayer may have been wrong all along. As Jesus teaches His disciples how to pray, we learn that the best thing we can do for our relationship with God is to be less fancy, less formal, and have some more real talk.     
CHRISTMAS 2015 FOR FAMILIES.
 
This Christmas you will have the chance as a family to not just LOOK at the Christmas story, but to EXPERIENCE Christmas! Gone are the days of someone else shaping what your kids know, understand or believe about Christmas...YOU get to shape that...and we are going to help. Through the four week self-guided "Christmas Experience", you will be resourced by our team to engage your kids with media, outings, challenges, projects and CONVERSATION! Watch for more information to come in the next few weeks!

  • Down the road: Our Semi-annual Fish Fry is November 14th!  We will have pulled pork alongside our hand breaded fish and sides. This year we will have our craft show, bake sale, and a visit from Santa at the same time. It's a great time to buy some goodies for Thanksgiving and some gifts for Christmas.There's a place for everyone to help from set-up, breading fish, through greeting and serving food. Check out the sign up sheets in the Connection Cafe.
  • Stephen Ministry -If you missed the informational meeting last week and would like to know more about Stephen Ministry, it's not too late. Please contact Susan Abbott at susan@sonrisechurch.info or Pastor Diane Samuels at diane@sonrisechurch.info.
  • If you've experienced loss, the holidays can seem overwhelming. Gain support and a new perspective by attending Surviving the Holidays, a seminar designed to help anyone who is struggling with grief. Join us at the SW campus in The Garage on November 9th from 6:30-8:30pm or at our Roanoke campus on November 12th at 7:00pm. Please register here.
  • Looking Ahead: An Evening of Gratitude is planned for Tuesday, November 24th at 7:00pm and our Christmas Eve service will be held at 7:00pm.
  • Date Change: KidZone information night has changed to November 3rd at 7:00pm in the Connection Café. Come and hear how you can make a difference on the front lines or behind the  scenes to create moments for families that create momentum for life.
