FUEL THIS SUNDAY:
We're starting a new series this week called Battlefield.  Life just isn't the same without friends around. Think about it-doesn't having friends around make everything a little better?  When you are in relationship with someone, there's bound to be conflict.  In his letter to Ephesians, Paul offers some guidance on how to handle conflict that, if we can put it into practice, has the power to change the way we fight. Through Paul's words, we discover the real win in an argument is when we fight for something more than being right. 

This years backpack program is off to a great start.  We have purchased 2016 cans of vegetables.  The woman's group has donated money for the purchase of additional meals.  Again, we are providing for 31 kids this year.  Next week (week of October 12th) we will be filling backpacks on Tuesday due to school being out on Thursday and Friday.  Please come and help fill backpacks!

 

Community Outreach:  October 23 will be our annual HarvestFest featuring Trunk or Treat, Chili Cook-Off, hot dogs, s'mores, and a hay ride.  Look for the sign up sheet outside the office to help.

  • Down the road:  Our annual fish fry will include pulled pork this year along with all of the yummy sides and desserts.  We will also feature a craft show and bake sale.  Put November 14 on your calendar!
  • KidZone Interest Meeting! Join Diane on Sunday, October 19th at 9:00 a.m. to learn about the opportunities to serve in KidZone. KidZone is equipping parents and children to experience a life-changing relationship with Jesus Christ. You can serve kids directly or help prepare materials, check-in, or prayer. Come check it out-this might be the perfect fit for you to serve!
  • Middle & High School students meet the 2nd & 4th Sundays in the Connection Café.
  • Care Interest? Learn about the many opportunities to provide care to others at our Care Ministry Meeting on Monday , October 19th at 7:00 pm.
  • Mark Your Calendar: If you've experienced loss, the holidays can seem overwhelming. Gain support and a new perspective by attending Surviving the Holidays, a seminar designed to help anyone who is struggling with grief. Join us in the Garage at the SW Campus on Nov. 9 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. or November 12th at 7:00 p.m. at the Roanoke campus.
