 Greetings from Pastor Scott Pattison!

 

Four months have passed since the first announcement of my appointment as Lead Pastor at Sonrise. Anita and I are so excited to be a part of the people and ministry of
Sonrise! We are looking forward to getting to know each of you. We have already felt welcomed in the transition.

 

This coming Sunday, July 12, I will be teaching at all three worship experiences at the Southwest Campus (8:30, 9:30, and 11 am), and then I will be sharing the same
message at the Roanoke Campus on April 19 (10 am).

 

I hope to see you this Sunday, and if not this Sunday, then in the upcoming weekends during worship. If you happen to see us out and about, please feel free to introduce
yourself. We have already had some make that connection, and it has been great connecting in our community as well!

KidZone families, mark your calendars for our Old-Fashioned Ice Cream Social
from 6:30 - 8 p.m. on Aug. 9! Join us for ice cream sundaes, yard games and meeting new friends - sign up at the KidZone check-in starting next Sunday!

We're in the thick of "camp season" at Sonrise! Our elementary students are leaving for Camp Lakewood THIS SUNDAY! It will be the most exciting and memorable week of their summer! Then, our middle schoolers leave for a great week at Camp Adventure next Sunday. Join us in praying for two great weeks of our students connecting with God and growing in their faith.

Join us every Wednesday for SPLASH DAYS at Buckner Park! Grab your kids and your towels, and join us from 10-11:30 a.m. at Buckner Park, 6114 Bass Rd.

 

This is a great time to meet more Sonrise families! Look for the orange tablecloth to check in. We'll meet even if it's coldish, and will only cancel if it's raining at 9:30 a.m.! If you are willing to "host" a SPLASH DAY this summer, by being intentional about greeting and connecting families, contact Stephanie Carrico.

Plan to join us at the Global Leadership Summit, Aug. 6-7 at the Grand Wayne Center. Sonrise values raising up Christ-centered leaders in order to impact our church, our community, our schools and the world. This two-day event will be instrumental in growing Christian leaders in our church and throughout the community.    

 

Your portion of the registration fee will be just $20; Sonrise will pay the remainder of your registration fee! Click here to register and pay your $20 portion, or stop by the Welcome Center on Sunday morning. Anyone high school age and older is invited - we all have influence with someone!

  • Registration forms for the 2015-2016 season of Mothers of Preschoolers (MOPS) are available at the Welcome Center.

  • If someone in the Sonrise church body is sick, recovering from surgery, grieving or going through a tough time, the church's Meals Ministry steps in to provide food during the time of need. It is an incredible blessing to see a friendly face and receive a meal when you're hurting! If you'd like to be involved with the Meals Ministry, or if you know anyone needing meals, just check the bulletin tear-off or contact the church office.

  • SAVE THE DATE for our annual Baptism Celebration: Sunday, August 30. More details coming soon!

  • FUEL STUDENTS: Our service project at Community Harvest Food Bank tomorrow morning has been cancelled.
