If you are looking for a way to serve, we would love your help caring for young children for two hours twice a month in support of our MOPS ministry. MOPS meets two Thursdays each month at Sonrise Southwest; the children's program, MOPPETS, is critical to the effectiveness of the teaching and care that young mothers receive through MOPS. We need loving caregivers to make that happen! You can commit for the entire season OR just serve periodically!

Sonrise Christian Preschool is an important outreach at Sonrise Church! Many community children ages 1-pre-K attend our excellent preschool program, and a number of families have begun attending Sonrise as a result of their children attending here. The preschool year begins this week -- welcome to all the pupils and teachers!

Other Announcements

  • We are excited about a New Thing at our Sonrise Roanoke campus! On September 14, they will celebrate their first service as a combined congregation, beginning with a service at a new time - 10 a.m., followed by a celebration meal. Monson Chapel has officially become Sonrise Church Roanoke, and its members will be joining Sonrise Church that day. It's going to be a very special service! This is a  wonderful example of life change happening in our church body!

  • The Young Adults ministry will be starting back up on Wed., Sept. 10 at 7:30 p.m. Join us at Sonrise SW for our fall kick-off -- we'll be grilling on the patio, playing games and hanging out!

  • If you are separated, divorced or just contemplating these actions, Divorce Care can give you a godly perspective. Divorce Care is a friendly, caring group of people who will walk alongside you through one of life's most difficult experiences. Our Divorce Care group will meet at Sonrise Church on Monday evenings at 7 p.m. beginning September 8th. The cost is $15 for materials. Ken Drummond will be leading the group. Registration is not required -- just come and get connected.
  • We're planning a work trip to Haiti January 17-23, 2015. Our group will be serving in various ways with our partner Jesus in Haiti ministries, located about an hour north of Port Au Prince. This trip is open to adults. The deadline for registration is September 30. If you're interested, please pick up an information packet today at the Welcome Center.

  • FUEL starts up again on Sept. 7, with the big kick-off on Sept. 14! Students, be thinking about who you can bring to FUEL this fall!
