Tuesday through Friday  

Hands-On Cooking Workshops

Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday the class participates with the teacher in planning a complete meal, then prepares it under the expert supervision of the teacher and cooking class assistants.  

Thursday's workshop focuses on making strengthening dishes.  

   

Afternoons: Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday

On one of these afternoons you'll be able to bring your questions to a Q&A Session with a Kushi Institute senior macrobiotic teacher. On the other afternoons there will be an optional movement workshop offered.

 

Friday Afternoon   


After lunch there is a 1 hour closing session, and the rest of the day is free for you! Some participants choose to leave after the closing, while others stay on until Saturday after breakfast, for more time relaxing and enjoying our meals and our lovely location.

Ideas for what to do during free time   

 

    On-Campus free time options include:

  • Simply relax, enjoy a book, socialize, or stroll around our scenic property.  

  • Private sessions at an extra fee may be available. Offerings include: macrobiotic consultation, shiatsu massage, restorative massage, or Feldenkrais Functional Integration. Please check while you are here for availability. 

    Off-Campus options include:

  • Go on a Berkshire adventure! Take advantage of the rich seasonal culture or outdoor activities of the region.

Program Prerequisites:


To attend Way to Health PLUS some familiarity with macrobiotic

foods and preparation is required. You are eligible if you have

done any one of the following:
  
  • Previously attended a Kushi Institute program
  • Previously attended other macrobiotic cooking programs
  • Studied cooking privately with a macrobiotic teacher
  • Attended the regular Way to Health the week prior, then go
    right on to Way Health PLUS

The regular Way to Health is our most popular program. During certain months, if you like, you can attend Way to Health then continue for another great week with Way to Health PLUS.

Situated on 600 acres of rolling wooded hills in the heart of the beautiful Berkshire mountains of western Massachusetts, the Kushi Institute campus is an ideal location for relaxation, reflection and renewal.

We make getting here easier!
If you are traveling by air you can avoid the high taxi fees from Bradley International Airport (about $200 each way!) by taking our convenient shuttle service, which is only $50 each way. The shuttle service only runs on specific days at specific times, please call or email for details.
