PTA President's Message
by Tina Wiener
We are quickly approaching the end of the year, and with the end of the school year comes the end of my term as PTA president of Horace Mann. I want to thank our wonderful school community for all of the support I have received over the past two years.

Parent volunteers - you are the backbone of this school and for all of your efforts, I will forever be indebted to you. It has really been a treat getting to know so many of you as we have worked together on projects and organized activities for students and parents.  To our executive board members for 2014-15 and 2015-16, I just couldn't have done it without you.

Horace Mann parents - you'll be in great hands next year, with a new school building, with our outstanding administrators, and with Jamie Halimi, Jill Egerman, and Romi Azevedo, along with a very strong executive board, at the helm.

I continue to urge all of you to get involved at the school in whatever way you can. When my son entered Horace Mann almost ten years ago as a kindergartener, I never in my life thought I would have been PTA president.  But through volunteering, I fell in love with the kids, the teachers, and the parent community, and here I am, a decade later,  passing off the torch to a whole new group. I have seen that Horace Mann can be whatever our parents want it to be, so get involved and make your mark!

Classroom Art Auction
At this year's Open House on Tuesday, May 3rd there will be a Classroom Art Auction. Parents will get a chance to bid on beautiful, original artwork from your child's class.

Bid on the one-of-a-kind, original artwork from each K-5 homeroom class (sample from a 4th grade class to the right). All art will be displayed in the main hallway. There is only one piece of art per class, so don't hold back in your bidding. These beautiful pieces are something the lucky winners will cherish forever. Bids will start at $75.00.
