PTA News - We Need You!
|
by Tina Wiener, PTA President
Fall is upon us, which means the beginning of the holiday season. It also means that we are nearly 1/3 of the way through our school year. With the early start in August, the first trimester has passed by very quickly. In the hustle and bustle of starting school, you may have put off a few things for later; it's easy for all of us to do. If you've been meaning to make donations to the school, sign up to volunteer, or get involved with the 8th grade graduation process, now is a great time to finish all of this up before we get any further into the school year. Horace Mann needs you! Your kids directly benefit from parent involvement, whether it is your volunteer time or your financial contributions.
Have a safe Halloween, don't forget to turn your clocks back on November 2nd, and enjoy a very festive Thanksgiving!

If you haven't already considered entering, this wonderful activity affords you the opportunity for many people to experience your artistic take on "The world would be a better place if..." Put on your thinking hat (or beret, or tutu, or whatever the case may be), let the creative juices flow, and make your mark for Horace Mann.

Congratulations to the Horace Mann Community for another successful Bottles for Bednets event! Eleven large bags of bottles and cans were collected. The money raised from recycling will be donated to the Nothing But Nets organization to purchase mosquito netting for children in Africa to help stop the spread of malaria. Thank you for your donations and special thanks to the sorting team! Great work!
