PTA News - Welcome Back!
|
by Tina Wiener, PTA President
On behalf of the Horace Mann PTA, I would like to welcome all of our new families to Horace Mann and welcome back all of our returning families. This year, the PTA has established three primary goals: -
Continue to improve communications; advocate for a parent-friendly, all inclusive environment for new and returning members.
-
Build the spirit of community, by involving 100% of our parents in volunteer activities at Horace Mann.
- Strengthen fundraising efforts to meet the evolving needs of the school environment and to continue to provide programs which supplement the academic and creative interests of the students.

A New Look for Horace Mann
|
by Misty Johnson
Recently you may have noticed a new look for Horace Mann and the PTA newsletter. That is just the tip of the iceberg as far as new changes that have been going on behind the scenes over the summer. Members of the PTA Executive Board have been working hard to roll out a new logo, website updates, a new newsletter format, and much more. The PTA's very own Shirley Ho designed the new logo for Horace Mann, as well as several other logos now in use. Read More

Bedtime Stories
|
by Misty Johnson
Join us in the Horace Mann library at 6:30pm on Tuesday, August 26th for our first Bedtime Stories of the 2014 school year. Bedtime Stories is a reading program for K-3rd grades (and their well-behaved siblings). Kids should come to the library dressed in pajamas and ready to listen to stories for an hour. Children, as well as special guests, are the storytellers. This is a great opportunity for your child to strengthen his/her reading skills and to generally learn how to be a good listener. Milk and cookies are served afterwards. If your child is interested in being a reader for our next Bedtime Stories, please contact Misty Johnson at maallred77@yahoo.com or Lisa Tonley at tonley@sbcglobal.net.

BHHS News

by Janine Kleerup
For those of you who may not know me, I am Janine Kleerup, parent of Nick (HM class of 2010) and Alex (class of 2014). I am writing to you because this year I intend to share important events occurring at the high school with you.
My PTSA position at the high school is VP of Communications. Before you think to yourself "but I don't have a child at the high school", you will soon enough and familiarity with Beverly is important as you and your child transition from middle school to high school.
