Midwest Literary Walk Author

Rebecca Scherm's 2015 debut novel, Unbecoming, was described by the New York Times as "startlingly inventive." Unbecoming is a novel of psychological suspense about a daring art heist, a cat-and-mouse waiting game, and a small-town girl's mesmerizing transformation. Scherm holds an MFA from the Helen Zell Writers Program at the University of Michigan, where she currently teaches. Her work has appeared in Subtropics, The Hairpin, Hobart, and Fiction Writers Review.

Intro to Leveled Readers

Reading Specialist Lisa Kaemming will be here to present our Leveled Reader collection and talk about how to use these materials
effectively with K-2 students. This
presentation is for parents, tutors, grandparents, and teachers who work with beginning readers. The Leveled Reader collection offers packs of books that become more complex with each level, much like the books that early elementary students read in school. Each pack also includes detailed mentor instructions for helping your child to succeed.

Learn about test attack strategies, test anxiety management, and how to use test day stress to your advantage! Come build your confidence and take control of your AP testing experience! Taught by Jen Browning-Perry, Graduate Faculty at Kaplan Test Prep.


Bunny Storytime

Come and meet the bunnies! Local farmers will show off their bunnies to get you in the mood for Easter. "Pat" a bunny in McKune from 6:00-6:30pm, then move to KidSpot for a special evening storytime with springtime stories, songs and crafts. 
 

 

Smarty Pants Trivia

Do you like trivia? Want to get out of the house and have some fun? Then round up a team of up to six people and join us at the Chelsea Alehouse where you can test out your trivia chops. After five rounds, the top two teams win prizes (and bragging rights). Need a little help on the scoreboard? Library cards can earn you bonus points!

Come find out what your community has to offer and enjoy free goodie bags and door prizes.  Stop by the ultimate bake sale offered by the Chelsea Senior Center for homemade pies, hot cross buns, and other delicious treats to celebrate Easter.  With free admission and parking, it's a fun day and a fun way to explore your community!
