makerchelsea Kids Day

Tinker, explore, and create with library staff and community volunteers. Test out kid-friendly activities and projects at this makerspace program: Do squishy circuits, computer programming with Scratch, make tech-friendly winter gloves sewn with conductive thread, make mini robots from toothbrushes, and more! With high-tech and low-tech projects, there's something for all skill levels. We'll even have the 3D printer out for a demonstration!


 

Walk to Freedom: a Martin Luther King Jr. Photographic Exhibit

January 12-February12*

Don't miss this wonderful exhibit on loan from the Charles H. Wright Museum of 

African American History in Detroit! This exhibit focuses on Dr. King's visit to Detroit where he delivered his famous "I Have a Dream" speech on June 23, 1963. It also provided photographs and biographical information on his life, as well as his lasting legacy of fighting for the rights to which every person is entitled.

*Note: The exhibit will be unavailable for viewing January 19 and 20.

The 3.5-hour ACT Practice Test helps students decide which test is right for them. This is a perfect opportunity to experience the ACT and prepare for testing in March. Please bring a simple calculator and a snack to eat/drink during the short breaks in testing.

There is still plenty of time to donate to this year's Hygiene Drive. Help homeless teens and children this holiday season by donating hygiene supplies.

 

Unopened donations will be distributed between Faith in Action in Chelsea and Ozone House of Ann Arbor.

 

A list of needed hygiene products is available in the library front lobby or at the youth reference desk.
