Write an Award Winning Essay
Saturday, Dec. 13
10am-12pm | Grades 9-12

Learn to write essays that can win you money for college, and much more.  Join college instructor Frances Kai-Hwa Wang as she leads a workshop that will help you take your essay writing skills into the next level.  Participants will practice writing essays for the Profile in Courage Essay Contest.  This national contest offers a top prize of $10,000 as well as a trip to Boston.



Help teens and children who are homeless this December by donating hygiene supplies between December 1 and January 7.  Teens need deodorant, acne cream, African American hair products, toothpaste and shower gel, as well as other supplies you might find in your bathroom cabinet. A full list of items needed is available at the library. Unopened donations will be distributed between Faith in Action in Chelsea and Ozone House of Ann Arbor. In partnership with the 4-H Club of Washtenaw County.

Common Chords Concert

Celebrate the start of Hometown Holiday with a heartwarming performance by the Common Chord hand bell choir! After the performance, audience members of all ages are invited to try playing the bells for themselves. Join us for music, refreshments and good cheer to kick off a great Chelsea tradition.

Need a present for a friend or family member? Who doesn't like a homemade gift? Make your own holiday presents here in the library! What we'll be making is a surprise, but we'll make it and wrap it today! Parents, this would be a great time for you to go shopping downtown, while your children make you a present! All supplies provided.
