Chills in Chelsea Halloween Party

Celebrate all thing spooky and terrifying at our Halloween Party. We'll tell scary stories, do creepy crafts, play gory games, and walk through Haunted KidSpot! Come in costume and we'll hunt for treats throughout the library.

Join Miss Karen and Miss Edith for Halloween stories, songs and crafts for the youngest spooks.  Come in costume and we'll hunt for treats throughout the library! 

 

Kids Halloween Costume Exchange

October 6-30 | Library Lobby

 

Do you have well-cared for costumes that don't fit your children, but you don't want to throw away? During October, the library is offering you the chance to let other children use them in a costume exchange! Bring in your costumes and take home a "new" one! All unused costumes will be donated to a local charity on November 1st.

When local photographer Ralph Guenther retired, he donated all of his photo negatives to the Chelsea District Library. On the second Wednesday of each month, join librarian Emily at the Chelsea Senior Center to identify the subjects of Ralph Guenther's photographs.


 

Permaculture: Solutions for Food, Water, Energy, and Climate

Thursday, Oct. 9

Nathan Ayers, sustainability expert and founder of Chiwara Permaculture, will showcase perennial agriculture techniques - from backyard gardens to 1000 acre farms. Permaculture design gives us the tools and principles to create regenerative, resilient homes and communities, providing for all of our needs, while healing ecosystems and restoring biodiversity.

In partnership with the Chelsea Area Garden Club.

Looking for a place to deposit your damaged American Flag?
The library in cooperation with the Chelsea American Legion Herbert J. McKune Post #31 collects old, damaged American flags for proper retirement.  Flags dropped off at the library are taken to the legion for the "Ceremony for Disposal of Unserviceable Flags" each fall. Please bring your flag to the "Check Out Desk" and we will make sure it is delivered to the American Legion.

 Thousands of beautiful books, CDs, DVDs, ,audio books and other items are available for purchase. Proceeds from the sales are used to support the Library. Stop by the Friendly Book Cart, always available in the lobby for a great selection 

of "like-new" books
