The 5H Community Read engages more than 10,000 people in the magic of reading by putting a wonderful book in their hands. Everyone can participate. In addition to the book, a number of free programs and events will be offered in all five communities to encourage people to "connect with others." For more information about this year's

Are you a tech newbie, can't figure out your new smartphone, or just want to ask your computer question to a real person? Let our computer volunteers provide you with the necessary skills and knowledge to use your computer and digital devices effectively. This program is aimed at educating users rather than computer repair.

Please register in advance through our online event calendar, calling or by visiting the library. Registration is very important so that our volunteers can prepare for your questions.


 

Mini Music Makers 
with Miss Tara

In this active musical storytime, children will experience many concepts of music through singing, chanting, moving and playing instruments. Parents and siblings are welcome to join in the fun! Local resident, Tara Vesprini is the teacher of the Music Together™ program at the Chelsea Center for the Arts, a cellist and a homeschooling mom of four. This week's theme: Music on the Go, a transportation-themed program

Mac Computer Support Volunteers Wanted

Are you familiar with Apple computers, laptops and digital devices? Are you a good listener, patient and 

like to help others?  If so, Chelsea District Library has just the volunteer opportunity for you!  We are 

looking for individuals who have experience with Apple OS and can assist basic Apple users during our Computer Training 1:1 sessions twice monthly.  Familiarity with iTunes and iPhoto also a plus. With an emphasizes on certain early literacy skills for your child, we will lay the foundation for reading through letter knowledge (with our Letter People Puppets!) and vocabulary building (great new books to read together!). Your child will leave thinking the library is a super fun place, all while learning pre-reading skills!
Note: Caregiver must remain in the room during the program.
