Join us for the 
Summer Reading Program Finale!

Join us on Wednesday, July 30 to celebrate another successful summer of reading! This year's space-themed finale will have you building rocket-ships, making water comets and doing all sorts of hands-on science activities! Don't forget the bounce house, karaoke and snow cones, too!
 
At 2pm, Michigan Opera Theater will presenting their version of "Little Red Riding Hood", where the scary Wolf is transformed into a comic character, Granny becomes a kvetchy old lady and the title character is sweet, charming and sings likes an angel!

Lego Summer Club
Monday, July 21 | 2-3pm
McKune Room | Drop-in | Ages 5+

Playing with Legos promotes basic skills such as spatial awareness, fine motor skills, creativity, and storytelling. The Lego Club gives children ages 5-12 an opportunity to create structures and stories by giving them one full hour of free play with our extensive Lego collection. At the end of the program, children will have the opportunity to name their creations and put them on display in the youth department  

     

Read to Your Library Buddy

Would you like a reading buddy? Read to Your Library Buddy is a fun, stress-free reading session with a teen or adult volunteer who is trained to help readers feel comfortable and supported. Reading aloud is one of the best ways to improve reading skills. The program runs on Thursdays during June and July. Each time you read for 15 minutes with your buddy, you earn a small prize and a Grand Prize Drawing slip! Come to all five sessions and earn a special prize! Sign up at the Youth Reference Desk or call 734 475-8732, ext. 4.
