It's a Summer of Science at the Library!

Tuesday, June 10 | 12-2pm 

Library Lawn | Drop-in | All Ages

It's Mad, Mad Science at the Kickoff! Visit the Grossology Station! Build giant robots, and then knock them down! Enjoy games, crafts, a bounce house, giant volleyball, karaoke, and snow cones on the library lawn.

 

Frozen Movie Sing Along

When a prophecy traps a kingdom in eternal winter, Anna, a fearless optimist, teams up with extreme mountain man Kristoff and his sidekick reindeer Sven on an epic journey to find Anna's sister Elsa, the Snow Queen, and put an end to her icy spell. Watch the movie and sing along to the songs!

D&D isn't just fun, it's challenging! Build your character, solve puzzles, battle villains and find treasure. New or experiences gamers are welcome. We will be using the 3.5 edition of the game. Feel free to bring your own games to play as well!
 
Read to Your Library Buddy Volunteer Training

Thursday, June 12

Calling all Reading Buddy Volunteers! Learn how to help kids with their reading in a fun, stress-free way. Attend this mandatory training session and help kids keep up their reading skills over the summer. Taught by Lisa Kaemming, Reading Specialist at North Creek Elementary, volunteers will learn how to help children chose a book at an appropriate reading level, encourage readers to read at their own pace, and find out how much fun you can have while reading together. Volunteer forms must be completed and handed in before the program begins on June 19th. Adults must list a reference on their adult volunteer form.

 

Picture Book Walk

Eddy Discover Center 

All Ages

Go on a Bear Hunt at the Gerald E Eddy Discovery Center! Participants will venture along the Rock Walkway beside the center while reading from large installations of We're Going on a Bear Hunt,written by Michael Rosen and illustrated by acclaimed illustrator,Helen Oxenbury.  Art installations will display pages from the picture book and will be placed throughout the stroller friendly trail.

Adult Summer Reading Challenge!

 

Get outdoors,  explore the Big 400, and earn prizes as part of this year's Adult Summer Reading Game!  Pick up a game card and check off activities such as attending a library event, visiting the Eddy Discovery Center, and, of course, reading.
