6th Annual 
Midwest Literary Walk

  

Returning for its sixth year, the Midwest Literary Walk will bring award-winning novelists, poets, and musicians to downtown Chelsea.  The free, all-day event begins at 11 am on Saturday, April 26 and will host readings at various venues throughout downtown.

Make two pairs of earrings -- one for yourself, and one for your Mom during this pre-prom and Mother's day event. Jewelry maker Marie Krause will walk teens through the process of turning wire and beads into jewelry. Tools and beads will be provided.

What is Free Comic Book Day? Free Comic Book Day is a single day - the first Saturday in May each year - when participating comic book shops AND libraries across North America and around the world give away comic books absolutely FREE to anyone who comes into their buildings. Pick up a free comic book at the children's desk all day today and enjoy!

Come visit our booth at this year's 8th annual Chelsea Spring Expo! More than 130 different vendors will be on display with information, samples, and products for sale. Come find out what your community has to offer and enjoy free goodie bags and door prizes.  Stop by the ultimate bake sale offered by the Chelsea Senior Center for homemade pies, hot cross buns, and other delicious treats to celebrate Easter.  With free admission and parking, it's a fun day and a fun way to explore your community!

Eric Harrington, a member of the Climate Reality Leadership Corps, initiated by former vice president Al Gore, will lead an exploration of the causes and consequences of climate change. These consequences are real, they are happening now, humanity is contributing to them, and there are solutions.

Join North Creek Elementary School's Reading Specialist, Lisa Kaemming, as she introduces parents of young readers to the Library's new Leveled Reader Collection. This special collection is aimed at beginning and struggling readers, and provides parents and mentors with strategies to help children become successful readers. This collection has been funded with a generous grant from MIS Cares.
