If you've ready any of Sue Stauffacher's Animal Rescue Team books, you know that she likes squirrels and skunks! * Learn about backyard animals native to this area (birds, squirrels, chipmunks, raccoons, with Eddy Discovery Center naturalist, Katie McGlashen from 1-2pm in KidSpot * Create bird or squirrel feeders (warning: peanuts involved); feel the pelts (fur) of backyard critters! * Make a raccoon mask; for snack, make your own "cheesy ants on a log!"
Monster Camp-out (David Lubar) in McKune Many of David Lubar's books are about zombies, witches and vampires! * Dress up as your favorite monster, listen to a creepy Weenies short story around the "campfire" and play zombie trivia for prizes! * Play freeze tag (remember how Logan in Punished! gets in trouble for playing tag in the library) * Snack: make your own trail mix
Turtle's Beach Party (Jennifer L. Holm) in McKune Jennifer L. Holm's Turtle in Paradise takes place in the Florida Keys, on the island of Key West, so we're "beaching it!" * Go on a beach-themed scavenger hunt around the library, complete with treasure map * Make starfish, turtle, and boat origami and seashell crafts * Play 1930's trivia based on pop culture in Turtle in Paradise for prizes! And for snack: make your own peach melba, just like in Turtle in Paradise

Say Hi to
Lori Campbell
Lori joined the library in October of 2013 as a Library Aide. She attended Gonzaga University in Washington, where she earned degrees in English, Theater Arts, and completed her Teacher Certification. She attended graduate school at University of Colorado, Boulder, where she earned a Master's degree in English, and met her husband Shawn.
They moved to the Chelsea area over 7 years ago and have two boys, ages 7 and 6. Lori's favorite literary works are Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen, and The Taming of the Shrew by Shakespeare. The part of her job that she enjoys the most is watching the little kids pour over the books and get excited about their finds!

As part of the Library Collection work group's goal to make our collection more easily accessible and our material easier to find, we are taking a survey of the way our adult fiction is categorized on the 2nd floor.
We want to know if you would prefer having mysteries, science fiction and fantasy shelved in separate sections, or if you would prefer to have all the fiction shelved by author and mark the genres with genre labels on the book spines. Help us by clicking on the link above. The data we gather will inform our next steps.
