Workshop 2: Meals with Megafauna: Sabertooth Cats, Dire Wolves, 
Mastodons and Man 
The giant mammals of the ice age not only had to worry about the climate but there was a new contender for apex predator status- humans. In this workshop we will examine the rise and fall of the megafauna and human's emerging role as apex predator.

CrossBow, a Celtic fiddle group based in Allendale, MI, will bring their spirited performance to Chelsea Alehouse (420 N. Main, Suite 100). Playing fiddles, woodwinds, mandolin, banjo, guitars, and drums, the ten members of CrossBow will entertain with a variety of Scottish and Celtic music, plus a few popular covers with a Celtic twist.

With so much genealogical content now available online for free, researchers don't have to break the bank to find information on their ancestors. Join Archives of Michigan Archivist Kris Rzepczynski to learn more about several of the most popular free sites, including FamilySearch and Cyndi's List, as well as a number of the lesser-known, yet equally valuable, tools.

This workshop will demonstrate online resources to help users in their job search. We'll explore ReferenceUSA's Job search module, Pure Michigan Talent Connect, MI Works Job Fit, and CareerBuilder, along with others. Users will also receive tips on creating resumes using templates and uploading documents as part of job applications.
