Detroit musician Rev. Robert Jones will return to Chelsea with his signature blend of blues and folk music. Jones' performance will present a musical history of the development of musical styles and significance of music in the African-American experience. A self-taught guitarist, Jones' talents have been featured at the National Storytelling Festival, Chicago Blues Festival, and Chelsea's own Midwest Literary Walk. All ages are welcome to this entertaining and informative performance.

Does being locked in the library with a MURDERER in the dead of winter sound like fun? Join our exclusive murder mystery party in the library and see if you can solve the crime. This program will be limited to twenty participants, so be sure to sign up early!

The Friends of the Library hold their annual meeting to review the past year and vote on new board members. Must be a dues paying members to vote but anyone can attend and join in the fun! Come see how you can support the library by being a Friend.

Email notices sent by The Library Network on behalf of  Chelsea District Library have been blocked by many email providers since December 30th. 
 
The majority of these issues have been resolved but anyone with a Hotmail or MSN account are still not receiving email notices. We are working with the providers to resolve the issue. 
 
Please check your account online or call the Library to check on holds or renew items.

Sonic Sundays Chelsea Percussion Ensembles

RJ Spangler Trio with Larry Smith

RJ Spangler and his trio will perform with Detroit alto saxophone master, Larry Smith. RJ will lead a musical tour through Detroit's jazz & blues roots, demonstrating examples with his all-star band. Larry Smith has a reputation as an old-school keeper of the bebop flame and a true talent for jazz ballads.
