Veterans Day: Premiere of Vietnam Veterans documentary
  
On Monday, November 11 at 2 pm, the Chelsea District Library will premiere their sixth community history documentary, "Vietnam Veterans" as part of Chelsea's annual Veterans Day event at the Comfort Inn Conference Center.

Following the premiere, both the documentary will be available for online streaming at StoriesofChelsea.org.

Vietnam Veterans was made possible by the generous support of the Friends of Chelsea District Library, VFW Post 4076, American Legion Post 31, as well as the contributions of many private donors.

The impact of autism is felt most intimately in families. Drawing from his own experiences as a father of a son on the autism spectrum, Kalamazoo College professor Bruce Mills will read from and discuss the writing of his memoir, An Archaeology of Yearning. In doing so, he will explore the power of shared stories and desires in sustaining ties across different ways of knowing.  Registration requested.

When local photographer Ralph Guenther retired, he donated all of his photo negatives to the Chelsea District Library. On the second Wednesday of each month, join librarian Emily at the Chelsea Senior Center to identify the subjects of Ralph Guenther's photographs.

Time Travel with Typewriters

Time Travel with Typewriters" transports you back 100 years to 1913 - the heyday of the typewriter. Once settled in your new temporal surroundings, create a profile page of your new life, typed up on your very own personal typewriter. The work will be collected, bound on the spot into a beautiful journal, and celebrated at a mini-launch party. Parents invited to join for cake!
