Tornado season is March through August and the library is committed to insuring the safety of patrons, volunteers, and staff by establishment and enforcement of customary tornado precautions.

It is the policy of the library to notify all staff, volunteers, and patrons of the status of tornado warnings and watches and to assure that precautions are taken to assure the safety of individuals while in the library building.

Staff will announce over the Public Address System that a Tornado Watch is in effect.

Should the Tornado Watch become a Tornado Warning, NO LIBRARY SERVICES WILL TAKE PLACE and everyone will be asked to move to the basement area until an all clear is issued or the Tornado Warning is cancelled.

Patrons who do not intend to move to the library basement will be asked to seek safety off the library premises when a Tornado Warning is issued.
