Celebrating Chelsea:
A Look Back at Chelsea's 125th Anniversary Celebration
 Librarian Emily Meloche will take us back to 1959, when the whole town embraced Chelsea's 125th anniversary celebration by growing beards, wearing 19th century fashions and building log cabins. View photographs, artifacts, and a recently-converted film of this incredible community event.

Events this Week
Tuesday, February 19Babytime | We'll be singing songs, doing bouncy rhymes, learning some "baby signing" and reading along to fun board books in the first half of this program. In the second half, the toys come out!
Thursday, February 21Preschool Play! | Open play that gives children ages four and younger an opportunity to meet and play with other children in a fun, safe, and child friendly environment while caregivers socialize.
Feeding the Monster: Approaches to Song-Writing | Educator and musician John Zainea will explore the art of song-writing-from how to get started, to collaborating with others and perfecting your final product.

Purple Rose Concert Reading | Purple Rose Theatre Company (PRTC) actors will read Annapurna by Sharr White. Please join us to hear this new work and share your feedback with the performers and PRTC Artistic Director, Guy Sanville.

Tax Forms

A Book Group for Parents and Kids
Sign up for the I'm a Reader! Early Reader Book Group-a book group for parents and kids. Read the picture book When Charlie McButton Lost Power, by Suzanne Collins, then join us for a fun hour of themed games and crafts as we talk about the book.

The Chelsea District Library is nonprofit organization whose mission is to provide equal access to quality resources that serve the lifelong cultural, educational and informational needs and interests of all people.The library currently serves 14,000 residents in the Chelsea district - City of Chelsea plus Dexter, Lima, Lyndon and Sylvan townships and more than 20,000 individuals visit the library each month. The library's state-of-the-art facility is an access point for information. In addition to providing dynamic services to complement and support local schools and other important community needs, the Chelsea District Library strives to present timely, interesting and high-quality programs and events to engage and enrich the Chelsea community.
