5 Attainable New Year's Resolutions for You and Your Family The new year is right around the corner and the time has come to think of your 2015 New Year's Resolutions. Sometimes New Years resolutions can seem daunting or impossible. Good New Year's resolution are attainable, manageable, and most of all, good for you! Here are 5 New Year's resolutions that you and your family can make this year that will bring you closer together and give you a fresh, healthy start for 2015!
1. Plan one fitness activity per day. Everyone in your family should exercise each day either alone, with the family, or with friends. It could be a trip to the gym, a walk outside, or maybe just playing in the snow! Everyone will benefit from the added exercise and family time!
2. Eat dinner together at least 5 days per week. Eating together as a family promotes healthy eating habits and strong communication and connection with your loved ones. It might not be attainable to eat together every night with busy and conflicting schedules, but aiming for 5 nights per week is a good place to start!
3. Choose 1 night per week to eat a meatless dinner. Eating meat isn't a bad thing, but meatless dinners can be just as delicious and filling with much more nutritional value. Going meatless can be a big change for a family, so start with 1 night per week to try a meatless meal. Who knows, you may love it and make it more than once per week!
4. Get serious about recycling. Some families recycle, but most families don't recycle right. Make a night out of making specific bins for each recyclable good with your family and stick to organizing everything as you go. It will promote a healthier family and a healthier planet.
5. Put down your devices. It seems like everyone is attached to their phones, laptops, iPads, and TVs nowadays. Take time each day to put down your electronics and reconnect with whatever it is you're missing: family time, the beauty of nature, a good book, or playing with your pet. Get the family involved and make it a regular routine to live life through experience and not through your cell phone screens.
Happy Camping and Happy New Year!
