Regular Summer Daily Schedule Begins

We're excited to welcome our new Social Media Manager, Jill Harrison, who will share her monthly blog.

The events that took place in Boston during the week of April vacation hit home for us. Being only 30 minutes south of Boston, we at Normandy Farms felt a deep connection and heartfelt sorrow for our capital city and for those affected by the attacks. We were sad and we were angry, but we knew the importance of wearing a smile and having a positive attitude during scary and upsetting times. Many guests commented on their appreciation for "the news not being in their face" while staying with us, and regarding Normandy Farms as the "best place to be in times like these." Our mission is always to provide our guests with the finest services and amenities for a truly memorable camping experience, but it is even more special when we can do that in hard times for our country and for our home state.

We are proud to be located so close to Boston.
We are proud to direct guests to tour our great city.
We are proud to donate to a Boston based charity.
We are proud to wear blue and yellow ribbons on our uniforms.
And, we are proud to be Boston Strong.

Kick Seasonal Allergies Naturally

If you're a seasonal sufferer who's looking for ways to treat allergies other than medication, here are some tips for natural relief:

First, get tested for regional allergies.

Go local for your allergy remedies. You may have heard the old wives' tale that eating a spoonful of honey a day will cure your allergies. Well, it won't cure them but it can significantly decrease your susceptibility to local allergens. Eating small, regular doses of honey or bee pollen supplements that are produced in your region can help your body build up a tolerance to pollen allergens, reducing the havoc they wreak on your sinuses. You can find locally produced honey and bee pollen at farmers' markets in your area, as well as in many organic chain markets.

Some allergy specialists suggest that your diet plays a role in controlling symptoms. If you suffer from weed pollen allergies, what you don't eat can make a difference. New York University allergist Dr. Clifford Bassett recommends avoiding melon, banana, cucumber, sunflower seeds, chamomile, and any herbal supplements containing Echinacea, as these can make symptoms much worse.

Clean your home regularly to reduce indoor allergies.
