Garden Justice Call to Action: Philadelphia's Land Bank
As part of the Garden Justice Legal Initiative and as conveners of the Healthy Foods Green Spaces coalition, we are taking an active role in calling on City Council to pass an equitable land bank bill that promotes transparency and accountability in managing vacant land across the city. Alan Sandals Law Center News: Alan Sandals and Richard Pasquier Join the Board
At the September meeting of the Board of Directors, the board appointed two new members. Alan Sandals is the principal at Sandals & Associates, P.C. Richard Pasquier is assistant general counsel at FMC Corporation. Both bring extraordinary experience and knowledge to our work and we are grateful for their support. Education News: Law Center Helps Philly Parents File Complaints 
Law Center staff are actively responding to the Philadelphia school funding crisis by helping parents of public school children file complaints with the state when students with special needs do not receive services mandated under their IEPs or when students experience curriculum deficits including lack of art, music, or counseling. The Law Center's Sonja Kerr is also responding by hosting an in-depth training for parents, advocates and attorneys on Wednesday, September 25th. Law Center News: Patricia Kind Family Foundation Grant
We are pleased to announce new support from the Patricia Kind Family Foundation for our Fair Employment Opportunities Project. This employment project uses litigation, education and communications to comprehensively address the significant barriers faced by people with criminal backgrounds when it comes to getting a job, a problem that disproportionately affects male minorities. Click here to learn more.
