ECCT Mission Finance & Operations needs help from parishes

Initial meetings on the 2017 budget are on the horizon, and 2015 Parochial Report information is an essential input to that process. As of last week, Mission Finance & Operations staff have not heard from about 25% of parishes in the Episcopal Church in Connecticut (ECCT), making it difficult to get the budgeting process underway. If your parish has not already done so, please organize the effort to "pull your numbers together" and complete your Parochial Report as soon as you can. Please file online at: http://pr.dfms.org/ AND send a signed hard copy to Episcopal Church in Connecticut, 290 Pratt Street, Box 52,  Meriden CT. 06450.

According to the canons of The Episcopal Church, Parochial Reports are due to the office of the Bishop Diocesan on March 1 and must be received by the Executive Council of The Episcopal Church by May 1.

National 2016 #ThankATeacher Campaign
Today is National Teacher's Day!

One way to share gratitude for influential educators is to participate in the #ThankATeacher campaign. Throughout this week, several national education organizations have encouraged those who are grateful for the influence of great teachers in their lives to participate in the #ThankATeacher campaign by sharing the following on social media:
  • A picture of yourself with your favorite teacher, past or present;
  • A picture of your child with their teacher;
  • A picture of yourself holding a piece of paper with a simple message saying Thank You to a teacher and why you're thanking them.
PRAY FIRST launches new website

PRAY FIRST, together with the Episcopal Church in Connecticut, announces the launch of its new website: www.prayfirstct.org

 PRAY FIRST describes the site as an invitation to experience God's presence in each moment of your life; a reminder that we can change our lives, our relationships, and our meetings by the simple act of inviting God to be present in them; and a reminder that in each moment there is an opportunity to begin our prayer and our life anew.

PRAY FIRST is an emerging ministry network in the Episcopal Church in Connecticut and beyond and the site reflects the network's commitment for greater availability of communication tools and resources among all of our many members and community constituents.
