Brian Sellers-Petersen:
Keynote speaker for community garden event

Brian Sellers-Petersen was recently announced as the keynote speaker for the community garden event in February. He brings over 25 years of experience with the Episcopal Church in various international relief and development roles. In particular, he has served Episcopal Relief and Development, where he is currently Senior Advisor to the President. Prior to joining Episcopal Relief & Development, Sellers-Petersen worked with World Vision International; Bread for the World; All Saints Church, Pasadena, CA; and the Anglican Diocese of Port Elizabeth, South Africa. Non Parochial Clergy Documentation Required
The Non Parochial Annual Report Form is due to Bishop Douglas' office by March 1, 2016 from all non-parochial clergy who are canonically resident in ECCT. This report will not be mailed to clergy and must be received in order to be a clergy in good standing in ECCT. This is requirement is from the Canons of the Episcopal Church in Connecticut (Canon II Sec. 3) Non-parochial reports are also due from retired priests who are participating in any sacramental ministry. The document, which includes further instructions, is accessible on the website here.

Grant Reminders
Care for Creation grant
The mission of the Jack Spaeth Care for Creation Environmental Grant is to encourage innovation and to empower members of the Episcopal Church in Connecticut to educate, witness and invite change in our congregations and communities with the goal of embracing a global vision of climate justice and preserving and celebrating God's creation. In 2016 there will be two granting cycles. Deadline for the first cycle is Jan. 30, and for the second cycle, August 15. Link here for an application form. UTO grant
The 2016 United Thank Offering grant applications are now available. The focus of these grants is Mark Five of the Anglican Marks of Mission: To strive to safeguard the integrity of creation and sustain and renew the life of the earth. Your application is due to the Office of Bishop Laura J. Ahrens by 5 p.m. EST Friday, February 19. Grant applications for start-up costs of a new ministry are allowable; funds are not permitted for the continuation of ongoing ministry. Only one grant application is submitted per diocese with one additional application for a companion grant. St. James', New London seeks an Organist and Choirmaster for a 3/8-time position, particularly from musicians with a strong background in choral conducting, to begin June 20, 2016. A Masters in Music is preferable, with some previous experience in church music. The church maintains a strong music program, anchored by its fine organ, a 4-manual Ernest M. Skinner, Opus 220.
