Youth Empowerment Luncheon May 28th
Meet one of our 2015 Caring Friends scholarship winners
Klo is one of four refugee students winning a Caring Friends Scholarship this year. Through an annual partnership with PAIR, Caring Friends both supports the academic pursuits of PAIR's students and recognizes the outstanding service of PAIR's volunteers. Klo and three additional students from Westbury and Lee high schools were awarded a 2015 scholarship along with four Rice University volunteers. We extend our utmost gratitude to Caring Friends for recognizing the hard work and dedication of our students and volunteers. We are proud of their efforts! l

Alongside his active participation in PAIR and strong commitment to his studies, Klo is an aspiring artist. Through his art, he remembers the home where he grew up in Thailand after his family was forced to relocate there from Burma, now Myanmar.  His artwork will be on display at PAIR's 2nd Annual Youth Empowerment Luncheon along with select art items for purchase that will directly support PAIR's Global Leaders programming for high schoolers, of which Klo has been an active participant for three years, following two years in a PAIR Global Learners middle school program.
Below is a sneak peek of one of Klo's sketches. If you would like to see the rest of this piece, along with more, come out to the event!
