Greetings!
Welcome to my new 21st century newsletter! I plan on sending these periodically to let those interested in my work know what the heck I'm up to.
Autumn is hinting at giving way to winter with the first snow storm hitting the Sierra range last week. Although I am working on several large paintings, I am also taking time to reflect. This is always a pleasant time of year as I am not swamped with painting commitments and can let my mind wander and explore new ideas without the pressure of deadlines. I believe these times of quiet reflection are an important part of an artist's development.
There is value in the spaces of time that exist in between the brush and the canvas.
Thank you for your interest in my art!

MARKLEEVILLE MEMORIES
Paintings of a Sierra Town
8 x 10 Inches Hard Cover with Dust Jacket
58 pages. 41 paintings.
Excerpt from book:
"The small eastern Sierra town of Markleeville, California, is a place the writer John Steinbeck would have liked. It is a town of the west, as far west as you can go before people stop thinking of "The West." It is in California, but it is not California. Markleeville is in the Eastern Sierra; a region, like grapes, with its own unique appellation. It is a town with a history; a town with one foot planted firmly in the today, the other dangling precariously on the edge between present and past."
I will be signing copies of my book during the
Holiday Housewarming at Galerie Gabrie in Pasadena, CA.
