Hello Evanston CASE community,
As the height of summer is upon us, I hope you are having fun and staying cool. It can be tough to find appropriate programs for our kids in the summer and there are far too many stories from parents that their children have had to leave camp for a variety of reasons. All are due to lack of needed supports from properly trained staff. This is unacceptable and change is needed. We have a lot of work to do!
CASE will begin holding Parent Connections meetings in September. This supportive and informative service will be offered twice montly, once over the noon hour and once in the evening. Dates to be announced. Also, stay tuned for information about our 2nd Annual Special Needs Resource Fair coming in November, 2016.
EXCITING NEWS!!!
Yesterday we received approval of our 501c3 nonprofit status! This is a big development for our organization and has been a long time coming. I founded Evanston CASE as a grass roots community advocacy organization almost eight years ago with a small group of parents concerned about the difficulty they were having with the special education system in our schools. Much has changed since then, but there is more work to do and new challenges to address.
Non-profit status will afford us the opportunity to expand our services and programs in the coming years. We are very excited about the work ahead and we look forward to serving our community in new and impactful ways.
Thank you for your support and participation in this very important work.
