Message From Richard

Greetings my brothers and sisters and welcome to our latest edition of Gods Faith Book's weekly newsletter.

I want to take a moment to thank all of you for your kind wishes and Blessings for my daughter, Lisa who just got married this weekend. In honor of all Fathers that have given up a daughter in marriage, I have posted a special video in our featured video section. Please take a moment to view this beautiful tribute to a father and daughter.

As many of you are aware, we have launched our Christian Dating site which is now in full operation. We have only promoted this to our GFB members but have now opened it up to outside membership. We will be starting a full campaign thru the internet and Christian radio stations this weekend. We expect a dramatic increase in membership as soon as our advertising campaign begins. Keep watching and following our daily postings on GFB front page. And remember, this is completely FREE for the first 3 months. That means you can join and meet and greet as many fellow single Christian members, with paying any fees. Link to: www.godsdatematch.com is located on black menu bar at top of home page.

Final plans for the GFB Bible Cruise have been under way for the past three months, but the response from our membership has been disappointing. If we do not receive enough of an interest, we will have to cancel or postpone this exciting Bible Cruise. This will be a 4 day cruise leaving from Miami, Florida and going to a Caribbean Port. A specific date has not been set, but it will be in the fall. Costs and cruise activities are being finalized. Besides deep discounts for GFB members to join on the cruise, you will also have the opportunity to earn a FREE cabin on the cruise. More details will follow in upcoming newsletters and information that will be posted on GFB home page. This will be an exciting time for all of us and a great opportunity to meet fellow members. I am looking forward to meeting as many of you as I can. So, let's start talking to our fellow members and friends both on and off GFB about planning to join us.

And don't forget to start accumulating your points which will be converted to entries to our second Holy Land Sweepstakes. For those of you not familiar with our sweepstakes, the following should help. The Sweepstakes will run for 18 months culminating with a winner in August 2014. Entries into sweepstakes are issued for every point that you have in your profile. For example, if you have 300 points that gives you 300 entries into the sweepstakes. Every time a member comes on to the site and posts a comment or posts a new video or posts their photo in their profile they receive points. Points are also given out every time a new friendship is made. Almost anything that members do are awarded with points. These points are tracked and posted on your profile page. All new members receive a point just for joining GFB. So if you have a friend who joins, they will receive an entry to sweepstakes just for joining GFB. So start posting and build up those points.

Weekly Giveaways! Who doesn't love free stuff? At GFB, we want to reward loyal friends each week by sharing Christian gifts like books, jewelry, and more. (Watch for contest details in upcoming newsletters!)

Helpful Sponsorship: As we have said, GFB is growing! (Praise the Lord!) But with increased web traffic, and more active email readers like you being added every day to our list of thousands, our expenses have been growing rapidly as well! We wanted to be completely transparent with you and let you know that to help offset the costs, GFB has invited a select group of sponsors to advertise with us. We're confident these modest ads won't interfere with our mission of inspiring millions to seek the Holy Spirit in their lives and share His fruit with others!

Have you had a chance to check out our new poll question which is located in the quick link section at top of home page on the black menu bar? This week's question:
Hell is:

A Mythical Place - 0%

A Place of Present and Future Eternal Torment - 90%

The Future Destruction of 1)the Wicked 2)Fallen Angels and 3)Sin Itself - 10%

You have only 5 days remaining to enter your opinion. Poll question is change every 15 days.

The Lord-He is God By : MAXINE PINDER

ECCLESIASTES 12:7B, 13-14

"...The spirit returns to God who gave it". Now all has been heard; here is the conclusion of the matter: fear God and keep his commandments for this is the whole duty of man. For God will bring every deed into judgment, including every hidden thing whether it is good or evil.

What does this portend? In the time that we live, people blaspheme the Lord and make all manner of evil and fallacious statements against him, his name and his people but they fail to realize that he is the one that truly gave them life by giving them their own spirit from his presence. This denial of him and the accompanying sin in the apostate and reprobate macrocosm causes God to loose his hand of judgment in the earth. Why can he do this? He is the only Potentate of the universe. He has the title deed, so to speak, the ownership. There is no life on the earth or in heaven, which does not owe its origin to God.

It is piteous that so many have deliberately shut him out of their hearts, minds and daily living: that some say, he does not exist and has not created the heavens and the earth. Genesis 1:26, states, "Let us make man in our image". Our peculiar and intricate design is the brainchild of the Holy one of Israel. The planet that we live on and the majestic heavens are the result of his thought. He is One and in Hebrews 1, the Son of David, the Messiah, Immanuel, God incarnate is described as the heir of all things. In essence, there is nothing and no one that is not under his authority; that is not owned by him. This can never be changed. Colossians 1:15-16 informs, "He is the image of the invisible God the firstborn over all creation. For by him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things were created by him and for him. To strongly reiterate, He is the giver and owner of all life.

It follows naturally, then, that he is the judge of all living, thusly, all life in heaven and in earth is accountable to him. Therefore, the text proclaims that fearing him and obeying his commandments is the whole duty of man. OUR PURPOSE IN LIFE IS TO OBEY GOD. If this is the case, and it is, many have severely missed the mark. They have escaped from their purpose to vices and sins and have grossly neglected the call of their existence. Revelation 20:12b states, "The dead were judged according to what they had done as recorded in the books. God, through the angels, records the deeds of all mankind and none can escape the day of his judgment. There is no force or power that can keep any of his creation, including the enemy, as Revelation 20:10 indicates, from being judged and sentenced by him. Even wickedness that has been masked by the forces of darkness so that it is not apparent to mankind will be exposed and judged. Many may cooperate to hide and protect evil but Proverbs 21:30 educates, "There is no wisdom, no insight, no plan that can succeed against the Lord". He is Omniscient. He is God. That means more than I can state in this piece of writing.

Where, then, does that leave us in this apostate and reprobate hour? God's return is imminent and is at hand and The Judgment is a certain event. We really need to get to know our creator quickly, if we do not know him, cleanse our ways and live expectantly for his return. 2 Corinthians 7:1 instructs, "Let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and the spirit perfecting holiness in the fear of God". For those that know him who are endeavoring to live for him every day, it is time to make final preparations. Those who have never known him need to understand the gravity of their life and spiritual circumstance, turn away from all evil in repentance, accept his forgiveness and live in obedience to him until he returns to snatch them away.

He has requested that I give this clarion call in his behalf
"RETURN TO ME AND I WILL RETURN TO YOU", says the Lord Almighty.

Weekly Devotional - Be Self Controlled

"But since we belong to the day, let us be self-controlled, putting on faith and love as a breastplate, and the hope of salvation as a helmet." - 1 Thessalonians 5:8

Dr. Martin Seligman and his colleagues at the University of Pennsylvania surveyed two million people and asked them to rank order their strengths in 24 different skills. The skill that ended up at the bottom of the list was self-control. Previous studies have shown that greater ability to delay gratification measured at age 4 predicted higher academic and social functioning more than a decade later. Self-control is an effort that's intended to help achieve a goal. Failing to control yourself is just that-a failure. Students with self control do better academically than students with slightly higher IQs and lower self control. Dr. Seligman concludes: "We believe that many of America's children have trouble making choices that require them to sacrifice short-term pleasure for long-term gain, and that programs that build self-discipline may be the royal road to building academic achievement."

We need to look to Christ and follow Him and then we will be self-controlled. Today in prayer, as you face choices and challenges this day, ask "What would Jesus do?" and follow Him.

"Control your appetites before they control you." - John Climacus

God's Word: "Therefore, prepare your minds for action; be self-controlled; set your hope fully on the grace to be given you when Jesus Christ is revealed." - 1 Peter 1:13
