Innocent Fun or is it? by Rick King
Some years ago I had the un-pleasure of observing something. I know many of you will just say this is silly and it is just having fun and that there is no harm. What I am writing about is a true story whether you want to accept this or not. You may say that it is just foolishness to you. The Bible says:
1Corinthians 2:14 But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.
A person that has spiritual discerning will understand and know that what I am sharing is correct.
We are what we eat!
A friend of mine spent countless hours on the computer playing war games. He always said that it was the strategy that he liked the most. I always was uncomfortable in my spirit when he did this. War games are about killing. Who is the one that enjoys killing? Who is the one that came to kill, steal and destroy? Look at this scripture:
John 10:10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.
Obviously it is not God that came to kill. It is the thief which is the devil or satan.
Exodus 20:13 Thou shalt not kill.
Deuteronomy 5:17 Thou shalt not kill.
Mathew 5:21 Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not kill; and whosoever shall kill shall be in danger of the judgment:
Romans 13:9 For this, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not kill, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, Thou shalt not covet; and if there be any other commandment, it is briefly comprehended in this saying, namely, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself.
Jesus came to give life. He came to save people, not kill them. Who is happy when someone gets killed? If the person had never met Jesus as their Savior, then the devil won and kept them from Heaven,
Going back to the war games. When this person played these games there was a demon spirit right behind him watching and enjoying what was being done. The war games were a open door that gave legal ground to the demon to come in. The person's attitude was not one of love. Love does not seek to kill. Finally after many years of this, the person was set free. The Lord even allowed him to see the demon spirit that was with him.
We in society seem to allow so many things. If it feels good then just do it. We are spiritually very blind. The Word says:
Hosea 4:6 My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.
Our lack of knowledge, spiritually, is killing us and so many around the world. We promote sex, drugs, murder, violence, all the time on television and in many other forms of media. We think this is just innocent fun. We then put people in jail for doing the things that they were exposed too. To me this is rather a double standard. It is alright to watch the murders and violence and illicit sex, but it is just to enjoy, not do. When a person fills their mind with this garbage they become open to a demon spirit controlling their actions. It can become a stronghold in their minds. A stronghold is anything that has a strong hold over a person. Jesus gave to each of us a choice. Once the demon gets involved he works on making a stronghold and then controls what a person does. Scripture says:
2Corinthians 10:
4 (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;)
5 Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;
When a person is constantly exposed to this kind of thing unless they learn how to cast the imaginations (by definition is a thought) down, those imaginations will control them. They are against walking in God's knowledge. Remember that we perish from a lack of knowledge. Where does true knowledge come from? It comes from God through the Holy Spirit. Unless we become aware and sensitive to the Holy Spirit, the devil is going to place many traps in our life that will keep us from walking close to the Lord and fulfilling what he desires just for us. Innocent fun like this feeds the flesh not our spirit man. It will and does open up doors for the enemy to come in and kill, steal, and destroy.
When a person seems to enjoy watching killing or it does not bother them, then there is a problem in that person and they need to go to Jesus and be delivered.
I am a 63 year old Born-Again spirit filled Christian, that has been saved for 30 years. Jesus found me when I was suicidal. I learned real quickly that I was powerless to be in control of my life, so I let Jesus take over. He has chosen me to be a warrior for Him. WE win, if we fight His way.
