Message From Richard

Greetings my brothers and sisters and welcome to our latest edition of Gods Faith Book's weekly newsletter.  I'd like to once again welcome all our new members that have been joining us over the past week.  It brings me great joy to welcome all of you to our growing community of friends and prayer warriors.  Our membership has been increasing by dozens every week and it's due in part to the comments spread by our current members. Thank you all and God Bless.

I have some great news for those members that have been asking about  GFB News Letters that have been published over the last several weeks. We are now archiving all of our past and future newsletters for members to look at.  The archives are located on the black menu bar under Friends.

It feels like summer is barely over, but gift-giving season will be here before you know it. While it can be quite the adventure to do all one's shopping as stores are closing on Christmas Eve, that does add an extra level of stress to what is-let's face it-already a stressful season. As many have discovered, the selection of suitable gift items at most convenience stores is limited. So before the holiday appears out of the blue and you get caught up in last-minute panic, why not take a moment and check out the GFB gift store.

GFB Gift Store can help you find just the right gift to convey the appropriate message. This is especially true, I find, when shopping for those hard-to-buy-for people we want to impress. In a perfect world the recipient will be overcome by the wonder of your gift, angels will sing, crowds will gasp in amazement, and you will be a hero. But guess what? We don't live in a perfect world. In these situations the "perfect" gift is often a myth. You're probably not going to find perfect; even if you eventually do, the amount of stress you've put yourself through to find it will taint the giving of it.

Now I'm not saying you should settle for any old thing. Go for a thoughtful gift, something that shows you considered the needs and wants of the other person. You may actually find the perfect something along the way and if you do, rejoice!

We've been adding new items including Christian themed books to the Gift Store and several new gift items.  Check it out-there's something for everybody. Also remember that  for a  limited time only, we have  also decided to drop all shipping and handling charges. We've done this as an incentive for you to try out our new gift store. And remember, that profits from our store will be used to fund our various charitable efforts as well as help fund the continuation of your GFB site.

Have you had a chance to check out our new Poll question? You have only one week left to express your thoughts.  Which Gospel account do you connect with the most? Just go to the quick links section located on black menu bar at top of home page and cast your vote.

Our Thursday Bible night class will be held as scheduled in the chat room at 8 PM EST and led by our dear Sister Faith. Also, please check out a new group started by faith, called GFB Bible Studies.  We are now be recording and archiving all Bible Class's. Join this new group and let me know what you think. You can also view our Bible Class videos  on You Tube.

Many more changes are coming to our site. As we go through these changes, we will need your feedback and comments on the changes coming through. I welcome your comments and continued support.

Remember, that this site does not belong to one person, it belongs to all of you. Without YOU, there is no US. Always Dare To Dream.

"Thank You Lord for this day, and for all you have done for us. Lord forgive us our sins, and help us with forgiveness of others. Lord please heal our bodies, minds and hearts, so that we are free and healthy in body, mind and Spirit. Lord may you guide , protect and provide for our family needs. In Jesus name we pray. Amen"

WE ARE IN JESUS HAND SO DONT WORRY HE IS ALWAYS WITH US.

GOD'S GRACE IS WHAT ENABLES YOU TO BELIEVE IN HIM. SO THANK HIM EACH DAY FOR REVEALING HIMSELF TO YOU!

Please visit the new GFB gift store!  The store is found on the menu and also at http://godsfaithbook.gostorego.com/ .  Shipping and handling is FREE for all GFB members in the continental United States.

Proceeds from our store are used to both host and improve the GFB site...as well as fund different charities we are involved with.

How are Christians to regard the poor and needy? By : MAXINE PINDER

I recently read that there are some in the Christian arena who do not believe that helping the poor and needy is a prime directive of Christianity. They are saying that those who believe in helping the poor are neglecting the spreading of the gospel and that should be more important. Both are equally important and are required, this is clearly demonstrated in the scriptures.

The scripture is very clear about helping those less fortunate. Matthew 25:32-46 presents a picture of Judgment Day. In that presentation, we find that those who helped their fellowman entered into eternal life and those who did not were sent to everlasting punishment. Jesus said to the ones that entered into life, "Come you blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: for I was hungry and you gave me food: thirsty and you gave me drink: a stranger and you took me in: naked and you clothed me: sick and you visited me: in prison and you came to me". The righteous asked him when did they do all these things to him and he answered, "Inasmuch as you have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, you have done it unto me".
When he addressed those on the left hand who had not helped their fellowman, he was unforgiving. He said to them, "Depart from me, you cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels: for I was hungry and you gave me no food: thirsty and you gave me no drink: a stranger and you took me not in: naked and you clothed me not: sick and in prison and you visited me not." They answered, "Lord when did we see you hungry, or thirsty, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison and did not minister to you?" He responded, "Inasmuch as you did not do it to one of the least of these you did not do it to me".

Ignoring the plight of the needy when you have the wherewithal to be of help to them can be very costly to you on the Day of Judgment. This is also demonstrated in Luke 16:19-31 not just in Matthew and Jesus is the one relating the events in both cases, therefore, we can deduce that this is something that is very important to him. The rich man who refused to feed and clothe Lazarus, the beggar who sat at his gate every day also went to hell. God will treat us no differently if we refuse to help those that he places in our pathway.

John, the Apostle, instructs in I John 1:9, 3:15, 17-18 "He that says he is in the light and hates his brother is in darkness even until now. Whosoever hates his brother is a murderer: and you know that no murderer has eternal life abiding in him. But whoso has this world's good and sees his brother has a need and shuts up his bowels of compassion from him, how dwells the love of God in him? My little children let us not love in word, neither in tongue but in deed and in truth".

The Apostle James teaches us that when we do not help those in need it shows that we lack faith in God because our faith is not buttressed by works of obedience. He admonishes in James 2:14-17, "What does it profit, my brethren, though a man says he has faith, and have not works, can faith save him? If a brother or sister is naked and destitute of daily food and one of you say to them, "Depart in peace, be ye warmed and filled"; notwithstanding you give them not those things which are needful to the body what does it profit. Even so faith, if it has not works, is dead, being alone. Yea a man may say, "You have faith, and I have works: show me your faith without your works and I will show you my faith by my works."

If we understand these teachings, we would know that helping one's fellowman is a prime directive of Christianity because it is obedience to the primary commandments, love the Lord thy God with all your heart and love your neighbor as yourself and love is the fulfillment of the Law and the prophets. I John 4:20-21 states, "If a man says, I love God and hates his brother, he is a liar: for he that loves not his brother whom he has seen, how can he love God whom he has not seen? This commandment we have from him that he who loves God loves his brother also". Therefore, we see that helping the poor and needy fulfills the law of God, the law of love. It does not upstage the spreading of the gospel in anyway, as a matter of fact, believers are expected to do both.

Dear Lord Jesus Christ, help us to learn about You in all of the Scriptures You have caused to be written, that our hearts and minds might be captured by Your love.
