Update On RIte Care Renewals
Families Can Now Renew at Any Time

Approximately 42,000 RIte Care families - including around 80,000 children - need to renew their coverage by the end of this year. These are families that last renewed coverage in 2013 and need to use a new process to be moved from the current eligibility system to a new on-line system. The state (EOHHS) began sending renewal notices each month to cohorts of several thousand families in June and plans to continue this process of monthly notifications through the end of the year.

Good News! Families Can Now Renew Before They Receive Their Yellow Notice:
The state will continue to send renewal notices to about 8,000 families each month through the fall and families should respond as soon as possible. Beginning this month, families do not need to wait to receive a notice before they can renew. They can do it right now.

Sad News! Closure notices sent to Cycle 1 and Cycle 2 Families: Families who received their first renewal notice around June 22nd or July 1st and did not renew were mailed closure notices on Saturday, August 16th. They can still renew or re-enroll and should do so as soon as possible. The process to renew or re-enroll is the same - submitting an application through HealthSource Ri.

Encourage families to renew as soon as possible!  If they have lost coverage, encourage them to re-enroll. Share our NEW flyer that tells them how to renew or re-enroll. (Spanish version).

To order color copies of the flyer, contact Rachel Flum at [email protected] or call 401-456-2751.
