Program Planning Workshop
|
District & Council volunteers plus staff are providing a morning of information and training for all units in the Hawk Mountain Council. This three hour interactive session will allow volunteers to gather knowledge on the following topics: - Fall Cub Scout, Science of Scouting, recruiting plan

Trainer's EDGE

Saturday, June 11, 2016 from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM - The purpose of the Trainer's EDGE course is to provide and help develop the platform skills of a trainer. This course is intended to "train the trainer" on behaviors and resources while offering hands-on experience in methods and media. You will have the opportunity to be in front of the group. The group will offer feedback that will help you improve your skills as a trainer. Feedback is a gift. We want to make sure it is given in a positive, helpful way. Click here to register.

The Wilderness First Aid (WFA) course will help you prepare for the unexpected. This fast paced, hands-on training is designed to meet the needs of trip leaders, camp staff, outdoor enthusiasts and individuals working in remote locations.  National Youth Leadership Training (NYLT) is an exciting, action-packed program designed to provide youth members with leadership skills and experience they can use in their home troops and crews, and in other situations demanding leadership of self and others. On Friday, June 10, 2016 from 6:30 PM to 9:00 PM, all registered members of the Hawk Mountain Council are invited to FirstEnergy Stadium to continue the tradition of "Scout Night" at the ballpark and to enjoy America's favorite pastime with family and friends. Introduction to Outdoor Leader Skills and Boy Scout Leader Training
|
Introduction to Outdoor Leader Skills (IOLS) will be offered in June, August and October 2016 at Hawk Mountain Scout Reservation.
This course is designed to meet the needs of Scoutmasters; Assistant Scoutmasters, interested Troop Committee Members, new adults from Webelos dens and Commissioners by helping you master basic camp skills required for Tenderfoot to First Class. Boy Scout Leader Specific Training (BSLST) focuses on troop operations and is part of becoming "Trained" for Boy Scout Leaders. This training will be offered Sunday afternoon immediately following IOLS. If you choose to take both courses, you can be fully trained in one weekend! Mandatory Leadership Training

 Training is an important part of learning to become an effective leader. The important scouting position you hold will be easier and more effective once you develop the skills necessary to deliver a quality scouting program every Cub Scout, Boy Scout and Venturer desires. Every youth member of Scouting deserves a Trained Leader.
