2015 Popcorn Sale

Are you ready for a successful popcorn sale? Have you completed your popcorn commitment form? We have a lot of exciting news to share about the 2015 popcorn sale.

We are reintroducing Mystery Houses this year. There will be 40 "mystery" houses throughout the Council. The first Scout to sell popcorn at one of the houses will receive a certificate from the homeowner. The certificate will be redeemed for a prize at either the Beaver Family Service Center or the Hawk Mountain Outfitters. Each week for seven weeks a clue will be posted for each Mystery House on the Council website. The first clue will be unveiled at the Council Popcorn Kick-off on Thursday, July 30, 2015 at the First Energy Stadium.

We are continuing the $600 Club. For every $600 of popcorn a Scout sells they will receive their choice of a Science Kit or a $10 Gift Certificate to the Scout Shop at the Beaver Family Service Center or the Hawk Mountain Outfitters. Their name will also be placed in a weekly drawing as well as a Grand Prize Drawing.

Mystery House prizes and $600 Club prizes will be available for preview at the Popcorn Kick-off on July 30.

We will be directly mailing the take order forms to all Scouts whose Pack or Troop have signed up to sell popcorn in mid-July. This will allow Scouts to sell popcorn earlier. We will be including extra order forms in your unit's popcorn packet.

We understand some Walmart locations are requiring a letter from Council outlining the popcorn sale for Show and Sales. Please contact Sally Trump at sally.trump@scouting.org or 484-824-5404 if you need a letter.

National Youth Leadership Training
Leadership is a key factor in the development of a Boy Scout/Venturer. One of the most valuable things Scouting offers is the opportunity to be a leader and to develop his or her leadership skills. The National Youth Leadership Training (NYLT) course provides an exceptional opportunity for the youth to do just that.
